If you ask Randy, he’ll tell you he has one of the best jobs anyone can have. He spends his days farming, winemaking and meeting great people at the winery. No day is ever the same in the vineyard, winery and tasting room. After nearly 31 years on the job, every day, year and season is different. It keeps him on his toes.
After his career in high-tech telecommunications and networking took him and his family to every part of world, it has been quite a satisfying change to wake up every day, take a few steps, and be at work. Having grown up in Southern California, the Central Coast was the perfect place to land after years of international travel. He finds having a business that combines a passion for great wines, with the ability to grow world class grapes for others, to be truly rewarding.
“Our business starts with growing the grapes and then making exceptional wine from those labors. I always say, “great wines are grown, not made.”
Cheryl lives a busy life here on the vineyard! In addition to maintaining the farming and tasting room business, she is our Weighmaster at harvest. She loves spending time with her kids and grandkids, curling up with an enjoyable book, or chatting with friends over a glass of wine. She grew up on the beaches of southern California and tries to get over to the coast often. She likes hiking beach trails, seeing the otters and sea lions, and looking for whales.
Tiffani- Tasting Room Manager
Tiffani is a fourth generation Paso Roblan who grew up wandering the backroads and vineyards of the Central Coast. She has managed the Tasting Room since 2010 and enjoys spending time near water, in the kitchen, or in the garden. She loves her family, she loves laughing, and she loves a nice glass of Petite Sirah.
Denise- Tasting Room Associate
Denise has been part of the Red Soles team since 2010. She has lived in Paso Robles since 1980 and is a retired school teacher from Atascadero. She has 2 children, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren! One of her favorite wines is the delicious Kick-Off and she has been known to add some to her homemade spaghetti sauce while enjoying a glass of her own.
Oma & Brad- Event Staff & House Mixologists
Oma and Brad first joined Red Soles as members on their honeymoon in 2011. Four years later, it was through the same wine club that these two ER docs from LA County were able to transition from medicine in the big city to the quaint Central Coast and the amazing lifestyle change that came with it! When not in the hospital, they can be found near the surf or learning the enological ropes from Randy and Cheryl in the Barrel Room, or perhaps behind the bar creating new Red Soles cocktails...usually with a glass of Syrah in one hand, and the Paso Doble in the other!
David & Colleen Richards- Event Staff
These two social workers from the Central Valley walked through the front door of a packed tasting room on opening weekend for Red Soles, Zin Fest 2007. They went right to work washing wine glasses and have been a part of Red Soles ever since. They have one daughter and are active volunteers in their community. David is an avid gardener and cyclist. Colleen enjoys the sunshine, and baking sweet treats.
Bill & Linda McFarlen- Event Staff
The McFarlen’s have lived on the central coast since 1996. They joined the club here in July 2008 and have been on integral part of our event staff since 2011. She is a native Pennsylvanian, a Penn State alumnus and loves rooting for her Nittany Lions. He’s retired from aerospace and spends his time as an amateur radio operator talking to other hams around the world.
Cindy- Event Staff
Cindy came on board with Red Soles in Feb. 2017. She enjoys the beautiful countryside and our coastal shores, as she likes to ride horses and go on hikes. She loves her family and enjoys their time together. She likes baking, making desserts or preparing the evening meal. Her favorite wine is the Estate Syrah, though it’s tough for her to choose a favorite!
